Born in Lebanon in 1965, Youssef Aoun holds a Master in fine Arts from the Lebanese University of Beirut.
He has participated in numerous group exibitions across Europe and the Middle East and he has held solo shows at the Sultan Gallery Kuwait (2007); the French Cultural Institute of Beirut (2007); the Magenta Gallery, Milan (2006); the Janine Rubeiz Gallery, Beirut (2004), the Epreuve d’Artiste Gallery, Beirut (1991, 1994, 1996, 1998 & 2001) and the Claudine Legrand Gallery, Paris (2005).
His work can be found in public and private collections including the Sursock Museum, Beirut and the Audi Bank, Beirut.
“I like to define my artwork as being multidimensional. It’s the combination of abstraction and textured natural and mineral products. I make use of acrylic, sand, and marble powder… which blend into different lines, colors, and shapes. My artwork explores the visual representation of memories deeply marked by the war”.
